Cheryl – Hygienist

I was born and raised in Mt. Vernon, MO. My biggest blessing in my life are my twin boys Keaton and Kale. After graduating high school in 1988, I attended a dental assisting program in Tulsa, OK. Upon completion, I returned home to begin my career in the dental field as a dental assistant. The love of dentistry made me want to further my education in the dental field. After five years as a full-time dental assistant, I went back to school to become a Registered Dental Hygienist. I attended the dental hygiene program at Missouri Southern in Joplin, MO. I graduated the program in 1997 where I received the “Golden Scaler Award” that is given to the top clinician. After graduation, I worked in Joplin for a little over a year before deciding to seek employment in Springfield in November of 1998. At that time, I began working for Stephen R. Young, DDS, and continued working for him until January 2013. It was then when Dr. Young decided to sell his practice to his daughter and son-in-law, Dr.’s Nathan and Sara Bauer. I was given the honor and opportunity to continue working for them under the name 417 Smiles. I absolutely love what I do and love my patients as well as my co-workers. I am truly blessed!
